It’s Friday. Let’s Go. (Detour #15)

Get ready to have your heart warmed five degrees. Tuesday night the Kansas City Royals played catch with some kids in the stands and here’s what one Orioles fan had to say about it:

Royals toss the ball with Oriole fans

And that’s why the CDC needs to keep on eye on Kansas City. They have the fever, and it’s a love fever, baby–pure love. We were there Tuesday night too, my husband and I, hanging over the rail in section 212 and whooping like crazy right along with the sea of blue. Rally flags swirled. Everybody high-fived. And way down on the field some pretty decent men played some seriously awesome baseball. Not that I saw it all from our vantage point–we missed Moustakas’ head dive into the box seats, dang it–but what we missed of the game was nothing compared to what we felt from the crowd. Unadulterated joy.

These photos were taken with our baby Canon instead of our big ole honking Nikon but rub your eyes and it’ll all come into focus. Go Royals.

Swwiinnnggg, Baby!

The flag on game three. Wish we'd been there when they clinched a World Series spot the next night.
